The Socialist Democratic Utopia / 

The American utopia 

Utopia is an ideal form of government. It's the perfect system where everything works harmoniously and citizens are happy and free. 

The Christian Utopia is concentrated in the kingdom of God when Jesus returns to establish God's kingdom on Earth. However, American Christianity has seen in part some kind of Christian utopia withing the American Utopia mostly practiced during the years of cold war with the Soviet Union. 

At the moment when the rise of communism was a global thread, United States enjoyed the best economical system of government ever. Great education, great employment, great welfare system, great unemployment system, great healthcare for everyone, a mass flush of immigration, rights and justice, freedom of religion. US was seen as the Promised Land to many around the world.

While the government of President Regan, the thread of the Soviet Union banished with the defeat of the Russian Union, and so started the banishing of all the things that made United States such an amazing country.

I mean, US wasn't perfect at the time, but at leas, it had the appearance of perfection that many could only envy.  Whoever would say something against the US, easily could be seen as a lier.

So was the role of the American Church around the world.  Missionaries were spreading the gospel and feeding poor children, clothing the naked around the world.  It was indeed, The American Utopia.

While in college, I learned that a true Utopia must be Democratic and Socialist.  And also, that the combination of both is mostly ideal and impossible.

The reason why this is impossible is because in order to share a country's wealth equally, you have to take the extra wealth from the rich for the government to re-distribute them. As you probably imagined, the rich are not too happy with this kind of resolution.  Well many countries that have become communist, had killed the rich people who refuse to surrender their properties.

Another big argument against Communism is that in order to keep this regime where the powerful are against, the government have to restrict media, transportation and communication in general.  Every citizen has be under surveillance.  Freedom becomes kind of impossible.

And finally, but not less important is the communists views on religion.  Karl Marx the founder, define religion as the Opium of the people which keeps them ignorant.  And guess what, because of this, religion is persecuted and even forbidden in most communists countries.   Religion is considered dangerous because with their meetings, it could facilitate for people to organize against the government or implant anti-government ideas on people.  It's also not subject to governments.

As you can see, Marxism is contrary to Democracy and freedom even thought it does solve the problem of inequality.  However, it doesn't really solve the problem of poverty since it's not supported by Capitalist countries who tend to apply multiple sanctions over communist countries.

Denmark for example enjoys a form of Social Democracy, and even the US of the past enjoyed a form of Social Democracy.  All we need to do in US, is to bring up the progressive agenda of many Democrats who are trying to bring Democracy into the Economy.

Social Democracy is all about gaining all basic social needs covered while we also keep our rights and freedom.  In order to obtain this and to be prepare for the future of technology, we need universal healthcare coverage, universal education to every level covered, and also some national guarantee of shelter and food.

Once these needs are covered, we can focus and becoming better people, to achieve higher goals and to care for one another.

It will minimize crimes, hate, and all that sort of issues in this country.
