What could make humans obsolete?

By default, humans will never be obsolete to humans. However; can our own creations replace us? Can robots and artificial intelligence ever replace us? First of all? Why will they do such a thing?

We humans are the ones pushed by surviving instincts and greed. Are robots hungry? Do they need to fight for resources? Do they feel cold, satisfied, or anything like that? Animals fight for surviving just as we do, because we are also animals. Animals do not bury their deaths, we do. Animals don't send their cubs to school; do they? They build no homes; do they? What I mean is that we are what we are made of.

We are somehow conditioned to be who we are. Robots would be a derivative creation; which means, our control over robots will be limited in the sense we won't be able to predict only partially their outcome.

Artificial intelligence would be based on mathematical laws or logic and cause and effect as well as our own ideas of what is reality and logical.

Only if we can predict AI, we could predict whether or not we will become obsolete, or even destroyed by our own creation. Let's say, it's true that robots and computer bots will do plenty of the work we do today, and that that work isn't limited to low paid jobs. It's also true that robots don't necessarily have to have an interest on destroying us; after all, we are their creators, kind of their gods. We can always run social activities and politics in benefit of ourselves.

We can also work on planning our lives and enjoying our families. There is always something to do.

The problem would arise if humans decide to interact to close with robots in the quality of humans where they want to marry them, to make them have kind of human babies and that sort of thing. Knowing human nature; that would be a surprise. Our closed interaction with robots could bring the collapse of humanity; not necessarily our obsolesce.
